About SynOps
Accenture's SynOps is a global human-machine operating engine that weaves together AI, robotic automation, advanced data analytics, and human domain expertise to optimize core business processes.
SynOps does not serve a single organization; it is deployed globally to orchestrate operations for Fortune 500 companies across diverse fields, including intelligent compliance, procurement, supply chain tracking, and financial anti-fraud management.
To render this complex operational workflow intuitive, our UX team designed a human-centered experience layer that translates big data and automation outcomes into actionable dashboards.
1. Groove Design System
With multiple development teams building diverse modules for SynOps (Finance, Legal, HR, Procurement), interface divergence was a constant challenge.
We established the Groove Design System as the single source of truth. We designed and built structured components, typography specs, color maps, and complex data visualization nodes. This alignment ensured a unified experience and reduced design debt across international product teams.
2. Human + Machine Collaboration
Enterprise users are often hesitant to trust black-box AI recommendations. We focused on making AI automation transparent and controllable:
- Explainable AI Elements: Integrated inline AI rationale panels, confidence score bars, and hover-triggered tooltips explaining "why this action is recommended".
- Human-in-the-Loop Flows: Designed rapid triage interfaces allowing operations managers to review, override, adjust, or batch-approve automated AI tasks.
3. Role-Based Dashboards
Different organizational roles require distinct views of operations:
- Executive Views: Designed storytelling interfaces displaying high-level performance indicators (KPIs), efficiency gains, and cost metrics for CFOs/CHROs.
- Operations Managers: Formulated alert-based control centers highlighting bottlenecks, system errors, or pending human approvals.
- Data Analysts: Structured deep tabular layouts and multi-layered filters enabling raw data queries and detailed compliance verification.
"Role-based UX personalization allowed C-suite executives and entry-level analysts to find immediate value in the exact same software engine."
4. Global Team Enablement
I managed the UX strategy and design quality across remote teams in the United States, Philippines, Costa Rica, and India.
By setting up joint Figma review rituals, cross-regional code-design clinics, and centralized documentation libraries, we kept all distributed teams aligned with the product's core principles.
5. DesignOps & Recruitment
To match the quick scaling of SynOps, we established structured DesignOps pipelines:
We formalized component contribution pipelines and automated handoff checklists. Furthermore, I led design recruitment drives, interviewing and onboarding UX researchers and visual designers to build a high-performing global team.
