The Challenge
The Integral School, operating under the educational philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, wanted a progressive custom school website. The challenge was to communicate child autonomy, non-coercive learning environments, and psychological growth without falling back on standard, high-distraction school websites filled with aggressive banners.
The goal was to design a storytelling experience that respects user attention, using calm technology principles and slow, fluid visuals to reflect their real-world pedagogy.
The Solution
We designed and engineered a custom school website focusing on calm, fluid UX:
- Fluid Web Design: Crafted spacious wide-screen layouts using custom CSS viewport units and container queries, creating room for focus and reading.
- Scroll-Driven Reveals: Implemented lightweight CSS scroll-timeline triggers that smoothly fade in content sections as the parent scrolls, mirroring a calm, self-paced learning journey.
- Respectful Handoff & Nav: Replaced standard sticky menus with a transparent header that recedes when scrolling down and reappears gently when scrolling up, maximizing visual canvas area.
- Adaptive Typography: Paired elegant header typefaces with highly readable sans-serif body fonts, utilizing fluid sizing curves to preserve comfortable text densities on all devices.
The Results
The new school website successfully communicates their philosophy:
- Calm Brand Storytelling: Parents report a highly engaging, intuitive reading experience that feels uniquely suited to the school's educational values.
- Visual Distinction: The school stands out significantly from standard educational directories.
- Lightweight Delivery: Streamlined CSS animations keep client page sizes small and fast.
